The platform's Site Explorer provides domain-level and page-level metrics including Domain Rating, referring domains, and organic keyword rankings, while Keywords Explorer surfaces search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, and SERP analysis across 10 search engines. Ahrefs indexes one of the largest web crawlers after Google, updating its backlink database with trillions of known URLs. The workflow integration requires an Enterprise API plan (API v3 key), which provides direct REST access to Ahrefs data programmatically. The MCP integration uses Ahrefs' official hosted remote MCP server and requires an MCP key, which is available on Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans — not the same as the v3 API key. Both key types are managed at ahrefs.com/account/api.
